The National Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all the centers and the SITS activities in the country. They also have an overview of the infrastructure in regards to the national stroke care treatments. The national coordinator can appoint a Regional Coordinator who is responsible for a certain region in the country.
The Local Coordinator is the doctor responsible for her/his SITS center. And the Local Users at the center is responsible for entering data into the SITS registry.
“We use SITS to have a uniform registry tool, which allows us to compare our data to other centres in Germany and worldwide. We also believe that it is useful to collect further data so that we have enough material to base the answers to our questions on. These answers would not be able to be based solely on randomized trials, such as optimal blood pressure levels and so on. Thus we will further participate in SITS.” – P. Ringleb, Germany
