SITS Atrial Fibrillation and Oral Anticoagulation in Acute Stroke and TIA Add On

SITS Atrial Fibrillation Add On records all patients diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (AF) admitted to the hospital with an acute ischemic stroke or TIA. When adding a patient to the SITS Registry, you are asked if the patient has been diagnosed with AF. Based on your response, the AF form is activated. The AF form contains a few additional variables focusing on patients with AF and the use of oral anticoagulation (OACs).

Benefits:

  • The AF add on provides additional data entry options for details surrounding atrial fibrillation and the use of oral anticoagulation for secondary stroke
  • The AF add on contains only a few additional short questions
  • Collected information is used to conduct research on patients diagnosed with AF and the use of OACs for secondary stroke

You can choose to enable the AF add on at the beginning of patient data entry, or later as Local Coordinator, under Centre Settings.
